For every country and people, there is no more proud and brilliant glory and honour than the victory in a do-or-die war.

July 27, Juche 111 (2022) marked the 69th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, in which the Korean people fought against the US imperialist aggressive army and its vassal forces.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was brimming with the conviction and will of its people to carry forward, as a lifeblood in their effort to inherit and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche, the struggle spirit and victory traditions, a legacy of the heroic wartime generation that worked a miracle in the military history of the 20th century by defeating US imperialism which had been claiming the “world’s greatest power.” In front of the Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War in Pyongyang, the capital city, was held a grand celebration to mark the 69th anniversary of the great victory in the war.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, attended the celebration and delivered a speech full of his love, respect and moral obligation for the victorious wartime generation and his will to glorify the country defended by the forerunners.

Greeting the V-day, Kim Jong Un visited the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery and paid a noble tribute to the martyrs who contributed to bringing about the miraculous victory.

Kim Jong Un visited the Friendship Tower to pay a noble tribute to the martyrs of the Chinese People’s Volunteers who shed their precious blood without hesitation for the sake of the common cause in the same trench to repel imperialist aggression.

The Eighth National Conference of War Veterans was held in Pyongyang and various kinds of events including meetings of war veterans and youth and students took place across the country.

The various events held to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the great victory in the war served as a reminder of the truth that the people will surely emerge victorious as long as they turn out with love for the things of their own and confidence in their strength and victory, and constituted a significant occasion in displaying the conviction and will of the Korean people to build their country without fail into a socialist paradise by dint of the heroic wartime spirit.
