DPRK bashing by the US and s. Korea prompts firestorm of protest

“Although Warmbier was a criminal who committed hostility against the DPRK, we accepted the repeated requests of the present US administration and, in consideration of his bad health, sent him back home from a humanitarian point of view, according to the June 13 2017 adjudication of the Central Court of the DPRK,” said a DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesman on June 23.

Such a statement came as the US and south Korea have launched a smear campaign against the DPRK in the wake of the death of Warmbier who died no more than a week after his return home.

Although we had no reason at all to show mercy to such a criminal of the enemy state, we provided him with necessary medical care with all sincerity until his return to the US, the spokesman said.

He doubted about the fact that Warmbier died suddenly less than a week just after his return in a normal state.

The smear campaign make us keenly realize that humanitarianism and benevolence for the enemy are taboo and we should further sharpen the blade of law, he noted.

The US should ponder over the consequences to be entailed from its reckless and rash act, he warned.

A spokesman for the Consultative Council for National Reconciliation condemned south Korea for making a fuss over the Warmbier case.

More ridiculously, the south Korean authorities are clamouring for the "repatriation of detainees" with the case as a pretext, he said.

To talk about the repatriation of criminals who are in the middle of prison terms is an intolerable mockery and challenge to the law of the dignified DPRK, he added.

If they are truly concerned about "humanitarianism", he noted, they have to immediately send back 12 DPRK women whom they abducted in group in broad daylight, as well as Kim Ryon Hui.

“The south Korean authorities should realize that they can never cover up their unethical nature no matter how loudly they speak about "detention" and "repatriation" just like a thief getting afraid of his shadow. And they should immediately send back all the DPRK citizens they have allured and detained against their will,” he demanded.
