There are many rare and beautiful natural monuments in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Among them is Ongjin fringe tree in Ongjin County. The tree, planted in around 1880, is 6.5m high and 2.4m round at the root collar.

For its long life and spectacular shape, it is significant for making an ecological study and adding beauty to the surrounding scenery.
