Mt Jangsu

Mt Jangsu, soaring 745m above sea level between Jaeryong and Sinwon counties in South Hwanghae Province, is also called Mt Kumgang in Hwanghae Province. Its name originates from the fact that there are many centenarians around it with fresh air, clear water and many medical herbs of high efficacy. Pine, oak and oriental oak occur there. There are many rare plants like Forsythia densiflora, Celtis cordifoia and ash and animals like roe deer, badger, raccoon dog, fox, hare, oriole, cuckoo, owl and wild pigeon. The mountain is also called Mt Chiak as there are many pheasants.
