Copper Flower Pot

This is the gift presented to President Kim Il Sung by the chairman of the central committee of the Independence Study Society of Bangladesh, who visited the DPRK in September Juche 80(1991).

He decided to present the copper flower pot, a symbol of happiness and joy, in reflection of his boundless respect and best wishes for the President, the founder of the Juche idea.

After completing the design for the flower pot, he entrusted a famous gift manufacturer in the capital with its making and did his best to finish it at the highest possible level.

The gift depicts the lotus flowers, the national flower of Bangladesh, and the happy faces of a man and woman wearing traditional national hats and it mirrored his boundless reverence for the President.

Presenting the gift, the chairman said that President Kim Il Sung is the great leader of not only the Korean people but the world revolution, adding it was the greatest honour to present the humble gift to the President.


Copper Craftwork ‘Horse`

This is the gift presented to Chairman Kim Jong Il by the general secretary of the Mongolian People’s Party in April Juche 100(2011).

In Mongolia, the horse is regarded as the most valuable, indispensable animal in people’s life and as a symbol of bravery.

The gift reflected the warm mind of the Mongolian general secretary who wished Chairman Kim Jong Il the greatest success in his work for leading the cause of the Korean people for building a powerful socialist country.

Written on the stand of the gift are Korean letters reading: “To the respected Your Excellency Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. General Secretary of the Mongolian People’s Party April 2011” 



Lacquered Bowl

This is the gift presented to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un by the vice-minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Myanmar who visited the DPRK in September Juche 104(2015).

After thinking over and over on what kind of rare gift he would present to the Supreme Leader on his visit to the DPRK, he decided to prepare the lacquered bowl, a famous handicraft in Myanmar.

There are elaborate golden flower and vine patterns on the lid of the lacquered bowl and round its brim.

It is said that from olden times people of Myanmar have drunk tea and eaten preserved tea leaves or other food made with them and served distinguished guests preserved tea food in a lacquered bowl.

As he passed the gift to a relevant DPRK official, the vice-minister said: “I hand over to you this humble gift in my name for the respected His Excellency Marshal Kim Jong Un. This is a famous ornamental lacquered bowl of Myanmar.”
