Third National Meeting of Active Heads of Neighbourhood Units Held in DPRK

The third national meeting of active heads of neighbourhood units in the DPRK was held in Pyongyang on March 16-17.

The meeting discussed practical ways in detail for making innovations in the work of dong and neighbourhood units as required by the new era, true to the intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to further consolidate the cornerstone of the Korean-style socialist system centered on the masses of the people and the foundation of the DPRK government and build a comprehensively developed, prosperous state on the solid ground.

The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, who founded the Workers’ Party of Korea on October 10, Juche 34 (1945), showed close concern for creating its emblem.

One July day in Juche 35 (1946) when the designing of the Party emblem was in full swing, he called officials to give them meticulous instructions on the details of its depiction. He said the Party emblem should be necessary to describe a worker, a peasant, together with an intellectual so as to symbolize that the WPK is the unified party of working people.
